The score for the film was composed by Mark Mothersbaugh, who re-orchestrated Leoncio Bon Lara's score from the previous two Top Cat films and included additional original theme music for the film. Production for the film began in November 2015, with Nichols and Thickson announcing that they wanted to create an animated Top Cat film that would 'transcend generations¨. In it, the aforementioned members of the gang embark on an adventure to stop Bottom Dog and his plans of capturing them.
